1-18-08.com now roars!

UPDATE: Thanks to unfiction for the sound file here.

Breaking news: When you pull up the 1-18-08.com website and let it sit for exactly 6 minutes (there is that special number again), you will hear a long roar that sounds like the ones from the trailer. This appears to be why the site was down yesterday. They were adding this roar! If at all possible, could someone record the sound and save it as an audio file, so we don’t have to keep pulling the site up?

A friend of mine, Gonzalo, recorded the sound. It’s here:
http://utaki.net/limm/cloverfield/CloverfieldSound.mp3. We’re currently working on the reversed and enhanced part. So far we found something curious, but until we find something plausible, I won’t say anything… =P (for the sake of righteousness…)

I think the roar is from underwater. At the end it sounds like water swooshing around as something swims by. That’s my opinion.

The link above doesn’t work because it has an extra dot ¬¬…

That has a VERY similar audio signature to the “Bloop” recording.

I was terrified when I heard it for the first time… I can’t imagine what kind of thing the monster could be.

here we go with the “BLOO{” stuff again! you see i told you somebody was gonna do it

    I didn’t mentioned Bloop =D
My theory goes about the kind of sound, not the similarities of the sound with something else…

Cool recording. Thanks! Pretty sure it’s a synthetic sound: No response from the cats.

BTW - if you put the movie poster in Photoshop and deliberately get an gamut error, what appear to be letters stand out sharply. The one I saw was from an internet image, however, of unknown origin, so no idea if it’s intentional, an artifact of scanning, or a hoax on someone else’s part.

I’ve been playing around with the sound… there is definately a human voice… female I think that is sighing… if you speed it up faster it sounds like a scream. There are multiple layers here, and 2 clicks… 1 before the sound and 1 after… been messing around with them but no luck… Anyone else find anything? This is a major clue to be unlocked. Almost sounds like a voice at one point… like a voice saying a 2 syllable word. Can’t make it out… almost sounds like they are saying Slusho… or somthing with 0 at the end.
