Hope this hasnt been posted already. Ok so i was checking out the slusho.jp site and i was trying to figure out there backdoors and whatnot. so i typed in. http://slusho.jp/swf/home.swf and that came up with a part of the flash. then i went and tried out http://slusho.jp/swf/main.swf and it showed me another part of the flash. then for the hell of it i tried of http://slusjo.jp/swf/slushozoom.swf and a quick flash video came up that just kept flashing http://www.1-18-08.com/images/ so i went there and under the category tree list was one image file called slushozoom.jpg and ladies and gentlemen here it is! i saved the file. and now when you go to http://www.1-18-08.com/images/ all you get is Forbiden. but i personly will keep checking back. Other then that bird creature thingy, whats with the smoke on the building. and the Slusho Sign! at least i think thats what it is. and the camera crew. is this filming? so confused. oh well. have fun.
However, later the author admits to fabricating this picture as a hoax. I attempted to recreate the steps the author stated they used, and couldn’t come up with the picture, so I didn’t buy it. However, the hoax was still relatively clever and had people going. I tip my hat to someone for their good work, and for owning up to the gag. Right now there are vastly more fake sites and disinformation rather than actual information. It is frustrating to get excited about something and have it prove false, so I enjoy it more when people admit to creating a hoax rather than continue to pull shenanigans.
However, I also post this as a reminder. When JJ sent his note to AICN he said the following:
Dear Sir,
Thanks for your support of our little movie. I can’t wait to talk to you more about it — of course, knowing you, by the time we talk you’ll know more than I will.
Regarding the online stuff you posted: yeah, we’re doing some fun stuff on the web. But, obviously, if the movie doesn’t kick some massive ASS, who gives a rat’s about what’s online? So as you can imagine, we’re focusing mostly on THAT. For what it’s worth, the only site of ours that people have even FOUND is the 1-18-08.com site. The others (like the Ethan Haas sites) have nothing to do with us.
Stay cool the rest of the summer — and thanks per usual for AICN!
JJ
Note, “we’re doing some fun stuff on the web.” JJ isn’t new to doing ARGs, and I do believe there is real info out there to be discovered. Along those lines I intend to put together the very little bit we know so far, and compile some ideas to perhaps kick start some actual investigating. It is possible there isn’t much in the actual game out there yet, but we may be missing something obvious as well.

it may be a fabricated image, but its an old one, i remember seeing that about a year ago.
Even if the author didn’t admit to the fake, I would hope that it would be obvious it is a fake. Let’s assume for two seconds the movie featured a flying monster (which contradicts all evidence that the monster is aquatic).
Said monster would be added in via CGI after the fact. A real life set pic would simply show the sky was empty. It isn’t like they’d actually create a working flying monster for the movie, especially on the relatively low budget of 30 million dollars.
Still, this had people going for a while, even with the poor photoshopping of the Slusho sign into the image.
This pictuer must be fake because the monster in the movie is a lion. Right?
(Yes. I am only kidding!)
that pic is a fake and its confirmed
The “HO!” in Slusho! is obviously faked… and not even a good fake.
