Since we don’t know much about the film other than the sound of monster and the teaser trailer, it’s time to imagine what it could be.
To enter your chance to win, you will write up 1 page version of how you think the story will flow from beginning to end along with a sketch of the monster. Now I know we are not all good in sketching like myself but do have an imagination to come up with ideas and stories.
The story, sketches or drawings or whatever that format it may be, will be posted on this thread.
You are allowed to tell your story in video format as well using YouTube or similar site. How? Be Creative
How Winners Will be Picked:
1) Top 7 Best Stories and Best Sketches will win t-shirt and posters. So that means each winner will walk away with poster and t-shirt.
2) The runner ups will be selected for poster or t-shirt.
Remember, this is a serious contest and open to anyone and everyone. No spamming.
Anyone who comes to the board to post nothing but jibberish or steals other people’s work (believe me there are ways of finding out) will not only be kicked off the contest but also the board.

i thought they were done with the shooting of that movie already?
They finished, but we still don’t know anything about it. They’re probably putting what special effects they can afford with their budget into the remaineder of the film… Or something like that.
It’s still fun to guess though.

yeah. i’ve been going to this website everyday for the past few months. two NEW pictures flip, but they don’t say anything on the back.
?????? wow um that is weird? because on the 1 18 08 site all of the pics flip and three or two have words on the back maybe its because of where you live maybe?

“Like nothing”? You can remove the “like”, ‘coz nothing’s happening. At all. This is getting annoying. Yesterday I was talking to some friends of mine, and I showed them the trailer. They were like: “WTF?” and asked me: “Alright, what’s its name? What’s this all about?”, and they laughed a lot when I didn’t knew what to answer. One of them told me: “Ok, let me get this straight: this movie is gonna be out in 4 months, and you still don’t even know the name of the movie, or the basic plot. You guys are making out some crazy theories, based on what? A trailer and some wierd website? I don’t know about you, this looks really mysterious and everything, but it really worth the time you’ve invested on it?”

this may be out of topic but - how did the name “cloverfield” come to be known?

I have heard different things but the only thing I remember is that Cloverfield was a street name that either Paramount was on or where the film shooting started.

I heard the name of the movie is Wreck… is that true? Does anyone knows anything about it?
Yes, Wreck has been added to the possible title list along with, Overnight, Cheese, Cloverfield, etc. If you go to the post before this one, I put up a link to a thread where a guy gives information about the movie from his friend. In it, he says the producers keep changing the title everytime it gets leaked. He said Monstrous was the title until it got leaked, and everyone hated it. Now he says Wreck was going to be the title, but now will probably be changed since no one likes it either. Personally, I think it should be along the lines of: Annihilation or Obliteration.
I always thought 1-18-08 was a cool title. Then again, I have never made a movie.
how about “it came from the harbor” or “one january night” or “once upon a time in…..HOLY FARK, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING”?
i’ve got a plot theory, well, maybe more of a “i think it’d be kewl if” idea. you guys give me some feed back on this? i already paid for the damn shirt, so if somebody steals this, keep the shirt & poster, but if you get a job offer, i’ll hunt you down like a scrap of useless parasite information and blow ur scales off…well, unless i get a reference to get outta my cubicle.
the movie opens w/ people in strange suits, simular to biohazard uniforms sweeping & spraying down the streets. they find a palmcorder & digital camera under some rubble, and start to watch…we fade into the movie playing on the palm corder…rob at his party, the whole trailer dealeo…follow the street scene out, 2 by 2 we see the party goers taken out by what seems to be no more than shadows. rob and beth try to hold up under a bridge, but the steps keep getting closer & closer, step by step, inch by inch they pound closer until a step on the bridge causes it to colapse, the camera shutters, and is tossed to the side…we see blood & clothing among the debris as the camera is on its side pointing at what used to be a bridge near central park
cut back to the biosuit dudes…we can’t hear what they are saying, but they seem to be shaken…we can hear radio crackles as if they have communicators in their suits. as they clean, they find another palmcorder…people having fun at coney island for a few minutes…fade to black, and come back on in midst of chaos…we fade into the film…running and screaming through the streets, building colapse on passersby. rachel & gary are talking, but can’t be seen by the camera yet. they discuss what could be happening, the camera turns to gary and his face turns ashen…the camera swirls around to see what gary’s face is looking at…we see a large object, what should be a shoulder, if a person was 173 feet tall, seem to float between 2 buildings. gary & rachel decide its time to boogie
as gary runs, we see what seems to be a claw, much like a lobster, yet the size of a caprice classic, come swopping into view. the arm like appendage is greenish brown, but wait…thats not a single claw, its a series, like fingers…but its moving to quickly to count the number…it snatches gary as rachel lets out a scream…gary’s voice fades as he’s quickly snached up, and seems to fade into an echo you would expect in a cavern…a crashing sound is heard, as if a giant bird had snapped its beak shut, and there is silence for a moment. rachel starts to scream again, but is also snatch up by the claw like appendage, she drops the camera, as it falls, its lands on a rock nearby
why don’t you just post that in the contest.
we can see her lift into the sky, and a second appendage come into view…she screams, and is suddenly silent…in the distance we can just see her as she’s torn apart, much like we would open a peanut shell to eat the insides. blood falls on the lens, clouding the view as giant series of legs or feet, unable to tell continue infront of the camera, as we hear more screaming in the distance, the monster moving on for further fuel to feed the distruction.
couple more scenes like this, just to prove that rob is NOT THE MAIN FRIGGIN DUDE…back to the biosuit dudes. they set the camera aside, and noise can be heard in the distance, its a siren signaling an all clear. the start to pull off the helmets of the suits, only to find that they are the minion offspring of the monster, that have now taken over new york city in their bid for world domination.
i can’t draw, at all…like worse than a 3 year old at big boy…if somebody wants to team up, use my story (i can indulge more, add a scene or two, change to suit the monster du-jure) w/ their picture, i’m all in.
honestly, i’m at work, board outta my mind, and needed an outlet in this noncreative world the industrial revolution has created.
so, whats anybody think?

i don’t think so, i read through there…seems more like goofy myspace BS if you ask me…besides, i’d fell kinda wierd posting a story about how some dude is going to die…on his website. although, that could make a good story on its own….
I think that story would be better than the monster movie. A little like Stranger than Fiction.
i need to start writing screen plays & submitting them…
